From November 18 to 22, 2025, Berufsmesse Zürich celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special edition marking two decades of success. Since its launch, the fair has grown into one of Switzerland’s most important platforms for career choice, vocational training, and continuing education. It offers guidance to young people, parents, teachers, and companies at a crucial stage in shaping professional paths.
What began in 2005 with 43 exhibitors and around 30,000 visitors has steadily expanded over the years. At that time, the fair showcased about 70 apprenticeship professions — today, young attendees can gain insights into over 240 career fields.
With more than 60,000 visitors each year and a growing number of school classes, teachers, and accompanying adults, Berufsmesse Zürich continues to play a vital role in supporting young people’s career development. Even for a digitally connected generation, in-person exchange remains essential.
No surprise – the fair offers hands-on opportunities to explore a wide range of professions: whether in healthcare, engineering, construction, business, nature-related careers, or skilled trades – many fields can be experienced live and up close. Conversations with training managers and industry professionals provide realistic insights into everyday working life and help young people better understand their own interests and talents.
To mark its 20-year milestone, the fair also features creative and culinary highlights: freshly baked cupcakes at the booth of the Zurich Bakers and Confectioners Guild, and a photo booth in the entrance hall where visitors can capture personal memories.
At a time when many industries are facing a shortage of skilled workers, Berufsmesse Zürich takes on special significance: it highlights the diversity of career paths, bridges the gap between school and the working world, and shows young people concrete ways to build a fulfilling professional future.
