New management and project expertise strengthens our team

We are pleased to welcome three new colleagues to the team at Messe und Congress Center Basel and Messe Zürich. They bring in depth expertise, industry experience and new ideas – and strengthen our locations in strategically relevant areas. For our partners, customers and event organizers, this means additional expertise, quality and proximity in our collaboration.

We warmly welcome Soraya da Fonseca as the new Head of Customer Management at our Zurich venue. With her extensive experience in the areas of customer management, stakeholder communication and operational management, she brings valuable expertise to our team. Soraya most recently worked for UEFA, where her responsibilities included venue and broadcast operations for major international events, including two UEFA Europa League Finals.
With her strong leadership skills, structured approach and international understanding, Soraya da Fonseca will provide key impetus in her new role as Head of Customer Management: In order to strategically develop customer management at the Zurich site, she will focus on expanding our customer relationships, optimizing internal processes and ensuring a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

Our Basel location is equally pleased to welcome two new team members: Larissa Dubacher joins us as Project Manager Trade Shows & Exhibitions, and Valentina Vögtlin as Project Manager Congresses & Events. Larissa brings relevant experience in event management, a strong educational foundation, and a deep passion for live marketing. Most recently, she was involved in various projects in event organization and is well acquainted with the dynamics of the industry. As part of Simone Weiss’s team, she is responsible for planning and delivering tailored trade show and event formats—ensuring high-quality customer support, smooth internal coordination, and seamless operational execution. In her role as Project Manager Congresses & Events, Valentina strengthens the team led by Saskia Riat. She offers valuable expertise in the congress and event sector, shaped by her work in both national and international contexts. Most recently, she served as Scientific Programme & Project Coordinator at Congrex Switzerland, where she managed complex academic congresses with high levels of responsibility. In Basel, Valentina will focus on the comprehensive management of client projects—with particular emphasis on project leadership, quality management, and client communication.
